What is Therapeutic Play?
Ignore anyone who tells you that you are too old to play. They are doing an injustice to both themselves and you! Play is any activity that you engage in for enjoyment and recreation rather than for work or some practical/serious purpose. Therapeutic play uses play as a tool to add more joy into life, relieve stress, supercharge learning, and provide opportunities to build relationships with others. It’s a time to let go, connect with your inner child and get lost in the moment as you become yourself.
Who does it help?
Play is important for child development but it is also very important for the aging brain too! Play improves your mental well being by engaging senses, building connections through team building, expression, humour and the sense of freedom. All people of any age can reap the benefits of play!
